Monologue

Oh hello, my name is Pantalone but of course you know that. I’m a handsome elegant man and I love a good bag of gold..but hey who doesn’t. I got my prescription today and they said I didn’t look a day over 40….5.

I have an exquisite daughter, Isabella. Oh, she’s a lovely person. I want the best for my daughter; marry her off to a rich man. She’ll be happy and she’ll thank me for it later, but sometimes she is clearly confused as she talks about Flavio. She must pity that poor fool for not being rich.

My servant Colombina oh she’s a beauty maybe one day she’ll love me like I love her.
Oh and if I haven’t mentioned it before I love money it’s like a good laugh. Actually it’s better then a good laugh. Money is really the only thing that a person needs in life. It’s so fine. I lend money but only if I can make more off it. I’m sure you people can relate unless you are unwealthy fools. Well in that case I better go before you unwealthy worthless fools decide you want to borrow some money from me.
