Kerry has demonstrated a very high level of competence in using relief printing practices and techniques to represent the subject matter of still life. This sophisticated interpretation of a still life subject shows extensive knowledge of compositional structure through the use of tight cropping to focus viewer attention and create ambiguity. Restrained and dramatic use of colour creates strong visual interest, and the confident cutting technique shows a strong understanding of the expressive qualities of the lino print. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.
