Ainsley has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in aural analysis and a sound understanding of the concepts of music evident in the piece. Instruments have been identified and some understanding of their roles and stylistic features is evident. There is some confusion with terminology and the concept of structure. The response would be strengthened by greater depth of analysis and making links between the concepts. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
