Terry has demonstrated elementary knowledge and understanding of the content. The diagram is inaccurate but the table of values has been completed using the correct number of centicubes, suggesting possible recognition of the pattern in the first two entries of the table. No attempt has been made to correctly calculate the number of centicubes for twenty tunnels or to communicate the rule using an algebraic or written explanation. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade E standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade E

The student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills.
