Cameron has demonstrated extensive knowledge and understanding of the addition and multiplication of fractions. The diagram and word problem reflect extensive understanding and the application of fraction multiplication to a real-life situation. In question 7 Cameron has demonstrated an understanding of converting mixed and improper fractions although the answer has not been written in mixed form. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
