Ariel has displayed an extensive knowledge of the operational skills needed to work with fractions. Despite the fact that the lowest common denominator has not been used, an understanding of the concept has been shown. Ariel has demonstrated the ability to transfer a real-life situation into a mathematical context. There is correct use of mathematical terminology and accurate setting out. Most of the calculations have been performed accurately. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
