Sam has correctly identified most items in the listening activity, demonstrating extensive understanding of the main ideas and supporting detail. A very high level of competence in applying learnt linguistic structures has also been demonstrated. Compound sentences have been used with correct word order, capitalisation of nouns and subject/verb agreement. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
