Chandra has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of poetry analysis. There is clear evidence of personal engagement, and supporting evidence for the choice of poems has been provided. The response is sustained and coherent, although it lacks an introduction and conclusion. The level of analysis indicates an understanding of the composer’s audience and purpose and some understanding of the use of literary devices. Competent use of vocabulary and few errors in spelling and punctuation indicate careful editing. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard midway through Stage 4.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
